More Vandalism Means More Work by the DPW
The Hull High School Junior Class built and installed a free library box at the Kenberma Playground a few months ago so that people could read a free book while watching kids play at the playground.
Within the first few days, the box was damaged by vandals and repaired by the DPW.
This week, the DPW Parks crew took the box back to the DPW garage and made it a little stronger, changed the way that the box opens so it is more user friendly (and safer to open), secured the roof and made it more weather resistant by adding a shingled roof to it.
Hopefully this box will last since the Juniors did such a nice thing in building it originally.
On another note, one of the BRAND NEW, FRESHLY BUILT benches at the playground was vandalized again! Someone thought it would be a good idea to draw rude pictures on it. This was removed right away because the images were certainly not family or child friendly.
There was also a significant amount of names and writing done on the new play structure as well!
If you see anything that looks out of the ordinary, please contact the Hull Police right away and help us preserve and maintain the assets that the town works so hard to provide...
