With tomorrow marking the first calendar day of winter, the DPW wants to ask for your help in making this season a safe one.
Once the snow starts to fly, please do your part to help in the snow removal efforts if
possible by staying off the roads unless it’s an emergency, do not shovel snow
from your driveway or walkway into the streets, clear snow from the sidewalks
in front of your house, remove all portable items from the edge of the road
(basketball hoops, trash barrels, etc), and most of all, if you see a plow
truck, please give them the room they need to pass safely.
Please remember to check your vents to ensure that they are clear of snow build-up to avoid any possible carbon monoxide exposure. If you have elderly or disabled neighbors, please check on them to make sure that they are alright as well.

Basketball hoops and other items left along the roadside could be damaged and could cause damage to Town-owned plows or even injury to snow plow drivers, please make sure they are removed
