With the amount of rain that is coming down combined with an incoming tide, some streets in town may experience mild to moderate street flooding, mostly those in low-lying areas and areas that are prone to repetitive flooding. We ask that you be patient, the water level in the streets will subside in the near future.
This potential street flooding is not because our drainage system is not working properly, in most cases it is, but due to the fact that the basins that are connected to our drainage system discharges out into the bay or to the ocean and the outfall pipes are located at or below sea level.
High tide is not until a little after 12:30pm today, most roads that are holding water right now will start to drain a little while after the tide begins to drop.
Please use extra caution when driving through or near this puddling.
