Due to the undermining of the wall that supports Atlantic Ave across from Montana Ave (at Gunrock Beach) caused by the recent and continuing wave action, the road will be closed starting immediately.
A construction crew
is on site right now to start making repairs. It will take a couple of days to
complete this work since most of the work will have to be done around the tidal
cycles.
Police details
will be located at either end so that emergency vehicles can get through.
Local traffic can
make it from Mary Lou’s News to Stony Beach Road, traffic wishing to access
areas up to Gunrock Ave must do so from the Cohasset end.
Large construction
vehicles will be moving equipment and large stones to and from the affected
area.
